Dr. Hoel performed a C5-6 discectomy and fusion at M Health Fairview for my neck, shoulder, and arm pain. Wow, my pain was completely gone! I’m now 9 weeks post-surgery. I am still totally pain free and almost 100% back to normal daily life.

We initially tried more conservative treatment (rest and injection) but that did not afford much relief from the constant pain in my neck, shoulder and arm. The reception staff is so nice! I had a long wait (not TCO’s fault) sitting in a wheelchair in the waiting area. They kept checking on me to see if I was doing okay or if I needed anything. They were awesome!

Right away at my first appointment with Dr. Owen O’Neill, I felt confident that his knowledge and experience with hip surgery made him an excellent choice for my procedure. I immediately decided to go ahead with his recommendation of hip replacement. Working with his team after the appointment was extremely easy and I was scheduled for surgery within three weeks.

I would recommend anterior hip replacement to anyone who needs hip replacement surgery. Dr. O’Neill and his team had me walking two hours after surgery. Three days later, I felt comfortable waking without the walker. After two weeks of increasing my walking with more household activities, I felt confident in driving my van. Eventually I was back to hiking on local nature trails, which I hadn’t done in ten months. Six weeks after surgery, I got back on my Harley Davidson and could ride again, which I also wasn’t able to do for ten months.

I would recommend Dr. O’Neill and his team to anyone who would benefit from having hip replacement surgery. They allowed me to get my life back. I was on the road to a total sedentary life before my surgery. I was pain free only when I was sitting or lying down. Thank you Dr. O’Neill.

It’s been one year since my total knee replacements. I had my first one repaired on Oct 23, 2020 and the other one on Dec 3, 2020, exactly 6 weeks apart. I cannot say enough about the care that I received from Dr. Barry, the EXCEL Program nursing team, my physical therapist, Chris Kuhn, and Rebecca Munson, PA. The kindness shown to me during this time was amazing!

On my first visit with Dr. Barry, I expressed to him how important it was for me to get back to normal life, which included kickboxing. He thought that was possible to attain with hard work. With the direction of Chris and a list of at home physical therapy, I went back to kickboxing in March of 2021 and it feels amazing. I could not have done this without the help of this wonderful team! For the first time in a very long time, I have straight legs and almost pain free!!! Thank you everyone!!!

This was my second total shoulder replacement with Dr. Kelly and it went very well! Both shoulder function normally and with no pain. It was the best thing I ever did.

I fell at home and broke a bone near my shoulder. The pain was intense and I was immobilized in a sling. TCO Physical Therapists, Jared Hansen, PTA and Seth Engberg, DPT, met with me two times per week, alternating appointments. They helped me move my shoulder joint, add range of motion, and build strength. I enjoyed time with both of them and following their programs. They encouraged me. Their sense of humor and respect for me truly attributed to the positive relationship we share. They made my recovery possible. I highly recommend both gentlemen to anyone in need of physical therapy!

I went to see Dr. Hoel because of severe pain in my lower back and down my legs. It was always worse when I was walking and bending over. The pain was relieved when I could sit down, but once I got up, it was only a matter of time before I needed to sit again. An MRI revealed that my 5th lumbar was not stable and was narrowing my spinal cord resulting in the pain down my legs (spondylosis and spondylolisthesis).

Dr. Hoel listened carefully to my descriptions of the pain I was having. He was compassionate and explained my diagnosis carefully. After our first meeting, I decided to do some research and came back to ask more questions. Again, he was very helpful and answered all of my questions and concerns. I tried physical therapy first, but when that proved unsuccessful, I asked to have the surgery. Dr. Hoel suggested to replace my disc and to fuse my 4th and 5th lumbar vertebrae together. I can’t tell you how happy I am that I had this surgery! The pain in my back and down my legs was completely gone right away. It was miraculous! Dr. Hoel really impressed me with his kindness, compassion, and knowledge. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to others.
