TCO Welcomes 12 New Physicians
Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) has added 12 new, highly talented physicians to the practice. Physician start dates will vary throughout the fall. Patients can now book physician appointments via online scheduling or by calling 952-456-7777. No referral needed.

Meet the Physicians
Etasha M. Bhatt, MD
Dr. Bhatt is a hand surgery fellowship-trained surgeon who specializes in the treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow conditions. She enjoys the intricate anatomy of the upper extremity and the opportunity to interact with patients of all ages. Dr. Bhatt aims to provide thoughtful and individualized patient care. Her goal is to educate patients about their condition and provide treatment options that meet their unique needs.
Dr. Bhatt will practice at TCO Burnsville and Eagan – Vikings Lakes.
Eric C. Busse, MD
Dr. Busse is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with expertise in primary and revision joint replacement. His surgical interests include complex primary hip and knee replacement, partial and total knee replacement, and minimally invasive surgical techniques including direct anterior total hip arthroplasty. He is also interested in trauma care and surgical management of a variety of fractures in both lower and upper extremities.
Dr. Busse will practice at TCO Burnsville and Eagan – Vikings Lakes.
Samuel W. Carlson, MD
Dr. Carlson is a fellowship-trained hip and knee replacement surgeon. He specializes in direct anterior total hip replacement and complex hip and knee revision surgery. Dr. Carlson has developed an expertise in rapid recovery protocols that facilitate outpatient hip and knee replacement.
Dr. Carlson will practice at TCO Eagan – Vikings Lakes and Edina – Crosstown.
Shashank S. Dwivedi, MD
Dr. Dwivedi is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the operative and nonoperative management of hand and upper extremity conditions as well as orthopedic trauma. His clinical interests include whole-body fracture care, as well as the management of upper extremity ailments such as Dupuytren’s disease, hand and wrist fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, joint replacement, microsurgery, and upper extremity compressive neuropathies such as carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome.
Dr. Dwivedi will practice at TCO Maple Grove, Plymouth, and Robbinsdale.
Jeffrey A. Gilbertson, MD
Dr. Gilbertson is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in trauma and adult reconstruction. His interests include surgical and non-surgical management of fractures and traumatic musculoskeletal injuries involving the upper and lower extremities, periprosthetic fractures, as well as complex fractures involving the pelvis and acetabulum. In addition to managing acute injuries, he also has extensive experience in post-traumatic reconstruction, direct anterior total hip replacement, and primary and revision hip and knee replacement.
Dr. Gilbertson will practice at TCO Maple Grove, Plymouth, and Robbinsdale.
Joseph M. Nessler, MD
Dr. Nessler is a fellowship-trained adult reconstruction surgeon. He manages all general orthopedic conditions with an emphasis on primary and revision hip and knee replacements. His special surgical interests include minimally invasive surgery techniques such as direct anterior total hip replacement.
Dr. Nessler will practice at TCO Hudson and Stillwater.
Ryan C. Nielsen, DO, MSc
Dr. Nielsen is a board-eligible, fellowship-trained trauma surgeon. His practice focuses predominantly on trauma surgery, as well as some general orthopedics and joint replacement surgery. His interest and specialty training in trauma includes the treatment of both adult and pediatric fractures, polytraumatic injuries, pelvis and acetabular fractures, periarticular fractures, malunion fractures, nonunion fractures, and surgical treatment of musculoskeletal infections.
Dr. Nielsen will practice at TCO Maple Grove, Plymouth, and Robbinsdale.
Zachary E. Pressman, MD
Dr. Pressman is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of injuries and conditions of the upper extremity. He is Johns Hopkins fellowship trained in both surgical and nonoperative treatment of the shoulder and elbow, including arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, biceps tendon tears, joint replacements, and sports injuries. He also specializes in the treatment of traumatic injuries to both the upper and lower extremities.
Dr. Pressman will practice at TCO Eagan – Vikings Lakes and Edina – Crosstown.
Jonathan C. Reid, MD
Dr. Reid is a sports medicine physician committed to caring for patients of all ages as they experience musculoskeletal injury and disease as well as working in the area of preventative medicine toward keeping his patients healthy and active throughout life. Clinical areas of focus include pediatric and adolescent sport medicine, musculoskeletal procedures with the use of ultrasound guidance, and nonoperative fracture and regenerative medicine. Dr. Reid also has a research focus on pediatric musculoskeletal health.
Dr. Reid will practice at TCO Eden Prairie, Edina – Crosstown, and Waconia.
Gregory L. Scallon, MD
Dr. Scallon is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon. His primary clinical focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of lower extremity disorders, particularly of the foot and ankle. This includes malalignment, sports injuries, trauma and fractures, bunion surgery, and ankle replacements.
Dr. Scallon will practice at TCO Burnsville and Eagan – Vikings Lakes.
Christopher J. Traynor, MD
Dr. Traynor is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon. He specializes in foot deformity and reconstruction, traumatic injuries of the foot and ankle, bunion surgery, sports injuries of the foot and ankle, and ankle arthritis and replacement. Dr. Traynor also treats a wide variety of general orthopedics, including fractures, traumatic and sport injuries, and hip and knee replacements.
Dr. Traynor will practice at TCO Eden Prairie, Maple Grove, and Plymouth.
Tyler R. Williamson, MD
Dr. Williamson is a sports medicine fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. His special interests include knee and shoulder conditions, both primary and complex. Dr. Williamson currently serves as a team physician for the US Men’s and Women’s Snowboardcross teams and for Rockford High School. By providing care for patients from all walks of life, he understands the importance of developing a treatment plan that is personalized for each patient’s unique goals.
Dr. Williamson will practice at TCO Maple Grove and Plymouth.
