My experience with Twin Cities Orthopedics and the EXCEL Program was very good. Dr. Panek is great. My hip replacement surgery went well. I couldn’t believe that I was walking the same day. It is amazing how much the new hip has improved my life. I’ve resumed sailboat racing and despite the pressure that it puts on my leg and hip, I have no pain. I ride my bike, walk miles on trips, ice skate, and participate in other activities. My leg feels so good that I often forget that I have an artificial hip. Sometimes when I go through airport or sporting event screenings, I forget to tell them and set off the alarm.

Surgery went very well and got me back to being able to do as much as my age would allow in much less time than I could have imagined. I should have had it done earlier.

I had been living with knee pain for years and had visited several orthopedic physicians. Once I met Dr. Panek and his team, I immediately felt comfortable that they would handle my issues. Had a knee replacement in June 2018 and I can truly say “why did I wait so long?” Due to the skill of Dr. Panek, I now feel better than I have in years!

While participating in the EXCEL Program and with the expertise of Dr. Panek and his team, I have made a successful recovery from knee replacement surgery. I am back to kayaking, bike riding, walking, digging in my garden, re-arranging (large) rocks in my garden and living life to the fullest!

Several members of my church had hip replacement by Dr. O’Neill and all recommended him. So when my pain became bad and I no longer put on my socks, I talked to Dr. O’Neill. He is very receptive to my questions, listened to me and gave thorough answers. Jessie, his assistant, also had time to sit and talk with me. My entire experience with the staff was very positive.

No more pain and I have full movement, lots of strength and power. I’m lifting weights again. Thank you Dr. Chris Meyer and team.

Dr. Erik Peterson is a skilled and caring surgeon and he did no less than give me my complete mobility back. I can’t say enough about how well I am doing and how quickly I recovered. Thanks to his and his team’s great care I was back to work in two weeks and now after 4 months have returned to many activities that I thought I would never again be able to do. Thanks again Dr. Peterson!!

So pleased that I had Dr. Tanner do my foot surgery. I was having a lot of problems with my foot after an injury. He was able to do the repairs needed on a complex surgery and he did such a fantastic job! I’ve been able to get back to being active again. He was very kind, caring and friendly, along with all staff involved. I would highly recommend Dr. Tanner as an excellent doctor.

Would like to thank Dr. Lewis and the excellent staff and especially Nurse Peggy for the care they provided to my brother Jon while having his hip replaced. Amazingly, he was home 24 hours later and is doing very well.

I could be the poster “child.” My pain before my hip replacement was 9 on a 10-point scale. I was using a walker and could barely do daily tasks. Could find no pain relief. Dr. Owen O’Neill was able to fit me in sooner than normal. Everything about the protocol, the team, the pre-surgery instructions, the precautions to prevent infection or blood clots, the educational session and the strengthening exercises were extremely helpful. In the recovery room and back in the hospital room, my pain was at a 1 or 2—insignificant compared to before surgery. No opioids. I walked at the arboretum 6 days later (with walker), quit the walker after 11 days. Life is great. Although I’m not supposed to run long distance, I’m back at yoga and walking up to 4 miles daily. I would and have recommended Dr. O’Neill to others.
