I had been having pain in my right hip and left knee that was not subsiding. My family doctor referred me to Dr. Ryan for further evaluation. I am more than impressed with Dr. Ryan and her logical, pragmatic approach to determining not only the cause of the pain but also how to manage it going forward. She was very easy to talk to and offered a number of options for treatment. After the first appointment I felt like I have known Dr. Ryan for years. I cannot say enough about how good she is to work with and would highly recommend Dr. Ryan when seeking a solution to your knee and hip issues.

Dr. Schmiesing gave clear explanations during every step of the injection. He and his care team, Zach and Lauren, have very caring personalities. Within minutes I was walking out of the clinic. I would highly recommend Dr. Schmiesing.

I have been seeing Dr. O’Keefe for several years. In 2012 he fixed my broken femur, which is doing great. I have always had great confidence in him and when he did my knee, he did not disappoint. Before my surgery, I felt well informed and well prepared. The pre-surgery class at Mercy Hospital was so helpful. After my surgery, I had severe muscle cramps and nausea. Dalton, his PA-C, and the nurses worked very hard at figuring out a combination of meds that finally kept both things at bay. Courtney and Marie in PT have been fantastic. They led me and gently pushed me to keep gaining strength and mobility. I feel very much “back to normal” and I couldn’t be happier.

Dr. Kruse was recommended to my by a friend, when a previous physician recommended more physical therapy. Dr. Kruse had a very quick diagnosis, surgery was scheduled, and I was up and walking without pain an hour after surgery. It was a fantastic experience working with him and his team. The Blaine Orthopedic Surgery Center and TCO Blaine facility are beautiful. I will never manage with that type of pain again and I will never hesitate to go back if I need to. I pass along Dr. Kruse’s contact information on a weekly basis. They work wonders!

Dr. Arntson has my respect as a doctor at the top of his profession. I saw Dr. Arntson for my hip discomfort and he earned my confidence from the first visit. I chose to have hip replacement surgery with Dr. Arnston and my expectations have been surpassed. I am over two weeks out of surgery without needing to take pain medicine, aside from Advil and Tylenol. I’ve had very little discomfort in my healing process and look forward to a full recovery. I am walking much better than I was before the surgery, thanks to Dr. Arntson. I truly recommend him for anyone in hip trouble. He is a top tier, skilled professional from start to finish.

For 5 years, I have known I needed both of my hips replaced. I put off the surgery and dealt with the pain until it started to affect my back. I knew I had to do something and finally, I had an in-depth conversation about the surgery with Dr. Lewis. I had high anxiety, not about the surgery or recovery, but due to waiting and thinking about the process. Dr. Lewis reassured me about the process. I finally agreed to have my right hip surgery done at the Minnesota Valley Surgery Center. As soon as I checked in, I was put at ease. The first nurse I talked to (without being prompted) acknowledged my anxiety and said it would be addressed. A short time later, I met with the Anesthesiologist. He too, without being prompted, said he knew of my anxiety and would take care of me. I was given some pills and was very comfortable leading up to my arrival at the operating room. I don’t remember a lot about the surgery itself but the rest of my stay at the Surgery Center was very comfortable.

They were a great and caring nursing staff. The entire visit, from the home nurse to the physical therapist, went smoothly. My follow up visit with Libby Witchger and Dr. Lewis went well and truly, the entire process went so well. I am considering have my other hip done as soon as I can. My biggest concern was the pre-surgery anxiety but because of the caring and concerned staff, it was barely noticeable.
