After a knee replacement and the second of my two shoulder replacement surgeries, I feel qualified to say that Dr. Kelly and his team (Lindsey Anderson, PA-C and Care Coordinator Kaici Gulbrandson) have made my life so much better than it would ever have been without their incredible work. I cannot envision how Dr. Kelly’s skill as a surgeon could be surpassed anywhere. It is nothing short of incredible. What a gift he is to the Twin Cities!

I am a 72 year old female and had a successful reverse shoulder replacement surgery, performed by Dr. Barry in October 2021. He and his surgery team and the TCO staff were amazing and full of kindness. They listened to my concerns every step of the journey. I went home the same day as the surgery. Every aspect of the prep and surgery was handled in a timely and efficient manner. I felt great at my 6 week checkup. There was minimal pain and lots of arm movement, which I did not have prior to surgery. The physical therapy took 3 months with totally professional therapists that are always putting my well-being first. I recommend Dr. Barry and Twin Cities Orthopedics to everyone.

I had a total left shoulder replacement in November of 2020 due to severe arthritis. Dr. Ridley did an amazing job. He is personable and professional. It’s been one year and my shoulder feels great. I’m very happy with the results.

Dr. Murar was so caring and supportive when dealing with my questions and concerns. He is an amazing surgeon and I highly recommend him and his staff if you are ever in need of orthopedic care. My surgery was in July 2021 and it is almost Thanksgiving now. I am at 90% function and “normalcy” in my left shoulder. I am 72 years old so this recover was very unexpected, but I give credit to Dr. Murar, his staff, and the two physical therapists that I had the pleasure of working with!

I could not be more pleased with the level of care I received at Twin Cities Orthopedics and from Dr. Norberg. I went from painful, sleepless nights and days when my left arm/shoulder felt almost useless, to a totally restored shoulder and pain free existence. Dr. Norberg explained, in layman’s terms, what the problem was and the options for how to rectify that problem. Following surgery, recovery time and physical therapy, I began to regain strength in my shoulder. This did not come without a regimen of exercises, which Dr. Norberg explained were critical to the recovery process. By following his advice, I am a the point where I am glad to recommend TCO and Dr. Norberg without hesitation.

Michelle thought her horse jumping days were over after a scary crash and serious injury. But thanks to TCO, she’s back in the saddle again:

“In 2017, my horse, Skip the Champagne, and I crashed during the jump-off at a competition in Iowa. I stayed securely in the saddle as Skip fell to the ground. We both landed on my left shoulder. Skip rolled over me twice before safely getting back on his feet. Thank God, Skip was fine.

X-rays revealed that I fractured my left shoulder. The following day, I met with Dr. Jason Dieterle at TCO Stillwater. Dr. Dieterle told me that I had a serious break and asked about my future goals. I told him I wanted to return to riding and jumping my horses competitively. However, my fracture was so complex that he hesitated to give me any assurances about jumping competitively again. Based on my fracture and what was left for him to work with, Dr. Dieterle told me a reverse total shoulder replacement was my best option, and the surgery was a success.

Afterward, Dr. Dieterle recommended 6 months of strenuous physical therapy, and said he would decide whether I could get back on my horse when it was complete. Thankfully, Dr. Dieterle saw the great progress I made and cautiously gave me permission to ride at a walk only and warned me not to fall off again. I quickly reminded him that I didn’t fall off my horse, Skip fell, and I went down with him. He said that was just a technicality haha.

One year after the accident, I returned to the same jumping competition, competing on all three of my horses, including Skip.

At our annual visits, Dr. Dieterle continues to be impressed with the return of my range of motion. He shakes his head and tells me to keep doing whatever it is I’m doing.

In December, I will be turning 67, and am so thankful to be healthy and back on my horses. I will forever be grateful that God placed Dr. Dieterle in my path.”

Dr. Dieterle did an excellent job replacing my right shoulder. It was the first time in my lifetime that I did not experience post-op pain (after 12 surgeries by other surgeons). My recovery has been painless and fast. After hearing about many experiences of others who had shoulder surgeries, I still cannot believe how painless and easy my surgery and recovery was. I am scheduled to have Dr. Dieterle replace my left shoulder in September.
