My experience has been better than I could have hoped for. I met with Dr. Eggert to go over my needs and plan for my knee surgery. From there, I met with his Care Coordinator, Molly, who made all arrangements and explained what I need to do in preparation for the surgery. The staff at the Orthopedic Institute were amazing at every level! They made me feel as though I was their only patient. My surgery went great, and I started physical therapy one week later with Sidni Simons. I worked with her for four months. I even got insight from her on how I could strength train my left shoulder which might also need surgery soon. I also worked close with Dr. Eggert’s PA, Mitch Peterka, who was phenomenal.

My scar is so fine straight and smooth that it’s easy to miss unless you were looking for it. I show it off whenever I have the opportunity. I did a massive amount of research before moving forward with my surgery and I feel I made the right choice. When I asked for Dr Eggert, there was no doubt in my mind that he was the right person for me. I couldn’t be happier with how my recovery has turned out, and the care I received from the whole TCO team. I am having surgery on my left shoulder next week with Dr. Eggert and I’m looking forward to the same success as my knee. Dr. Jason Barry, Becky Munson, and the Twin Cities Orthopedics team performed reverse total shoulder replacements on both of my shoulders. I’ve been a TCO patient for about seven years and have always found Dr. Barry and Becky not only to be genuinely kind but also exceptional at what they do. Before surgery, my shoulders were in such bad shape that I regularly had to reset them myself just to get through the day. Now at 56 years old, I can do everything I want again. I’ve lost 100 pounds, work out regularly at the gym, bike about 80 miles a week, and have full range of motion. I can reach straight overhead and touch my shoulder blades behind my back. I had the best experience with Dr. Reynolds after I found myself stuck and stiff for days from my neck and shoulders. I had tingling all the down to my arm to fingers. Once an MRI was done, I was told that I needed immediate surgery to relieve the compression on my cervical spine, so we booked the surgery. I have had more than ten orthopedic-related surgeries related to osteoarthritis, but this neck thing scared me to death since it was involving my spine.

We met and discussed the procedure. He was able to explain so I could understand, spend the time to relate to me, and put me at ease. It made it an easier decision to go through with the surgery. He has a very good manner during pre-op, at surgery center, during post-op, and the follow-up! My surgery seems to have been very straightforward and common, but more important, successful. I would gladly recommend Dr. Chris Reynolds at TCO for any family and friends needing a neck specialist.

I had my left shoulder replaced two years ago by Dr. Hunt. The entire team at Twin Cities Orthopedics is so good at what they do. I am having my right shoulder done soon. If the right side goes as well as the left, I will be very pleased! Dr. Hunt is awesome in every way. Thank you all!

Dr. Maria Ryan thoroughly explained to me my options for my knees and my shoulder, including acid injections and PRP injections. She is very knowledgeable, considerate, and compassionate. I have been living a better life thanks to her!

Dr. Bhatt and her care team are amazing! I initially went to see her for trigger finger care on my right hand. I shared concerns about numbness and tingling in my hands and she sent me to get testing right away. We determined that my ulnar nerve in both elbows was transposed in addition to having carpel tunnel in both my hands. We scheduled surgery on my left arm first. It was a seamless process from getting through pre-op and surgery. All team members were extremely helpful and friendly. I got the splint and stitches removed after two weeks. Dr. Bhatt even made an effort to go around my tattoos! My right arm is scheduled to be done next month. I highly recommend Dr. Bhatt and her team! They are the best!

Today is the 3-year anniversary of my shoulder replacement performed by Dr. Gulli. I put off the surgery for two years thinking it would not help or maybe make my issue worse. I would sleep maybe three hours a night and experience extreme pain if I accidentally rolled on it. After trying a couple of cortisone shots that weren’t effective, I had the full shoulder replacement he recommended. Today, I have no pain, can sleep through the night, and have full use with that arm again. I thought of Dr. Gulli today. I remembered how great they did in helping me get to where I’m at today. Thank you again to Dr. Gulli and his team.

I started seeing Brook about a month ago, and she quickly identified the tightest muscles in my right shoulder. It has been amazing working with her! She knows exactly what she’s doing, and how to free up my super tight scalene muscles with massage therapy. I trust her 100% and I will be using her services more often throughout the year. Not only is she an awesome human being, but she’s extremely knowledgeable with helping me manage my neck pain. I highly recommend her!

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Gregory Lervick and his team since 2019 as an operating room nurse at Crosstown Surgery Center in Edina. I already knew him as an exceptional orthopedic surgeon and colleague, but in 2020, I unexpectedly got to experience his care from the other side of the operating room.

In September 2020, I fell while hiking and tore my rotator cuff and bicep tendon. There was never a question in my mind about who I wanted to repair my shoulder. I trusted Dr. Lervick and his amazing PA-C, Andy Anderson, completely. Dr. Lervick was able to repair my shoulder arthroscopically using four suture anchors. Now, six years later, my shoulder is perfect. I have full function, no pain, and honestly cannot tell that I ever had shoulder surgery. Even the four arthroscopic incision sites have healed so beautifully that the scars are essentially invisible.

As an OR nurse, I have spent decades working alongside surgeons, so I understand the skill, precision, and judgment that excellent orthopedic surgery requires. Being able to say that I have seen Dr. Lervick’s work both as a colleague and as his patient makes this testimonial especially meaningful to me. Perhaps the best testament to the confidence I have in Dr. Lervick and Andy is what happened afterward: I started sending people I care about to them. Since my surgery, I have referred three friends, my uncle, my cousin, and numerous acquaintances to their team. I would never make those referrals lightly.

Six years after my own surgery, I remain incredibly grateful for the care I received and for an outcome that exceeded anything I could have hoped for. My journey with the Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) team began in February 2017 when my wife gave me a Valentine’s Day gift: a new hip. I had put it off for so long because I was afraid. Dr. Brian O’Neill performed the surgery and helped soothe my fears. The surgery went well, and I was up and walking with the assistance of a walker within an hour or two of the operation thanks to the TCO EXCEL program. His advice was simple: walk. He said it was the best thing for a new hip, and he was right! Since my surgery, I have participated in the TCO personal training program, where I meet with Laurey Heinrich twice a week for 30-minute sessions focused on strengthening. Laurey’s sessions have provided motivation, accountability, and the support I needed to stay committed to exercising.

Over the past couple of years, I have developed some knee and shoulder “maturing issues.” These have become the focus of my training and have led to a few physical therapy sessions with the TCO team. Dr. David Hartigan and his PA-C, Aaron Hulsebus, have been realistic about my physical challenges and have helped create a care plan that takes my personal goals into consideration while improving my mobility.

Where has this journey led me? Over the past year, I have lost 20 pounds and successfully kept the weight off. I have been able to travel and enjoy hiking in the Red Rock area of Sedona, Arizona; explore the beaches and trails of Maui, the Big Island, and Oahu; and enjoy many trails throughout Minnesota. I can even play golf again. Most importantly, with the birth of my granddaughter, I am now able to get up and down from the ground to play with her, which is a major accomplishment. I can hold her, read books to her, and go for walks with her and my family. Having that mobility back is a true gift!

My shoulder and knees may still have their “maturing issues,” but the TCO team has provided me with the tools, guidance, and care I need to maintain my mobility while reducing discomfort, all without the need for additional surgery. For my mobility and the opportunities it has opened up for me, I am deeply grateful to the TCO team.
