Thank you, Dr. Mair, for your expertise and care during my recent knee replacement. It is wonderful to go into surgery calmly and without fear, trusting the surgeon completely. I will definitely continue to recommend your services to people in Gibbon.

Thank you also to the entire staff at the Waconia Hospital. From the admittance, through the pre-op activities, meeting the anesthesiologist and acting physician, nurses helping along the way, the recovery room and later in my room for my three day stay, all staff were wonderful. In spite of the lousy weather right after Easter, every nurse, nurse’s assistant, aide, physical and occupational therapist, lab technician that drew blood etc., were so helpful, kind and caring that it made my stay very comfortable. The kitchen did an excellent job on the meals which my daughter (and coach) and I appreciated because we were able to choose our menu. I know I have forgotten some of you that made my stay very comfortable and even fun, but it is not intentional. I just want everyone that had anything to do with my hospital stay to know that I definitely appreciated all of your efforts and will heartily recommend the Waconia Hospital to anyone that needs health care.

My progress in physical therapy is going very well and I graduated to a cane yesterday. My next goal is to be able to drive again which should be in the very near future. Because of all of your efforts and help, my replacement was a very satisfactory effort with great results.

Before surgery, I was limited on all normal activities such as walking, golfing, yard work, etc. After the surgery with Dr. Meyer, normal movement was accomplished.

I had been living with undiagnosed hip dysplasia for almost eight years when my neighbor told me I should have my hip checked out by his doctor at Twin Cities Orthopedics. My physician explained that I was a candidate for TCO’s EXCEL program, which turned out to be a perfect fit for me.

The day of my surgery, I got out of bed and knew right away I had a good strong knee. I can’t thank Dr. Peterson enough for giving me my active life back. Thank you for doing a great job on my new knee. Also his staff is very friendly and quick to get back to you with any questions or concerns.

Ski racing accident at Buck Hill in January 2018. I was taken to the ER at Fairview Ridges in Burnsville and Dr. Murar was on duty and got me as a patient. After he got a look at the X-rays, he came to see me in ER and we discussed a plan on what procedures needed to be done and what I was looking at for recovery time. Fractured Tibia Plateau left knee and fractured humerus bone left arm, I was pretty banged up! From the day of the surgery until today as I write this testimonial Dr. Murar and Kelly have been available to address my concerns about anything I needed to whine about with a smile and a encouraging word! My goal was to be able to play golf with my son on our annual Father’s Day outing and on Cinco de Mayo I was able to swing a golf club (wedge) and hit a golf ball for the first time! A full recovery will take some time but Dr. Murar and Kelly got me through a very challenging recovery and I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart!

My experience with Dr. O’Neill and his team was EXCELLENT. From start to finish, the entire hip replacement procedure far exceeded my expectations. For anyone who is experiencing hip pain and discomfort or has started limping, I strongly recommend starting with an X-ray. If the X-ray shows significant deterioration of your cartilage at the hip joint I strongly recommend setting up a consultation with Dr. O’Neill. I was particularly happy to find that Dr. O’Neill performs the innovative anterior procedure which avoids cutting the major muscles in the hip area (such as the glutes) which allows for a much faster recovery. I had the procedure done in early January of 2018 and within a few days I was walking for over an hour per day. After a couple weeks I was also able to incorporate a lot of stair climbing each day (I am lucky to live in a high rise!) In early April I traveled to Peru and walked a great deal (and climbed some monuments) during my 33 day vacation. My FitBit told me I climbed the equivalent of more than two EMPIRE STATE BUILDINGS (223 floors) and walked almost 20,000 steps (8.5 miles) when I toured Machu Pichu (shown in the attached photo). Sports has always been an important part of my life, and I am thrilled to be able to do almost everything I did before my encounter with osteoarthritis.

Dr. Owen O’Neill performed my minimally invasive anterior approach hip replacement on 1/23/2018. I’m 70 years old with an added complication of having had polio as a baby from which I made an excellent recovery. I suspected new post polio problems when pain & weakness began curbing my mobility. I had no idea they were also symptoms of my needing hip replacement. Eventually, even walking through the house had become too painful. In desperation, I made an appointment with an orthopedist who diagnosed me with needing a hip replacement. I began researching orthopedic surgeons on the internet for a 2nd opinion and ran across Dr. Owen O’Neill. His impressive credentials and experience, along with the patient testimonials on his website were all very impressive. Upon meeting and talking with Dr. O’Neill, I knew he was the highly skilled, kind and caring surgeon I wanted. My hip replacement was a complete success! Dr. O’Neill, along with Jessie, his physician assistant, took excellent care of me. Following surgery, my previous hip pain was gone. The operative pain was tolerable and definitely less than the pain I lived with before surgery. I was encouraged and happy with the progress I quickly made. I’m back to my previous activities and enjoying life. My only regret was waiting rather than finding Dr. O’Neill a few years ago. He truly gave me back my life! Many, many thank you’s, Dr. O’Neill!

I am a nurse and have plenty of reasons not to like doctors, but Dr. Marek is one of the good guys. Exceptional care of my 3 year old daughter who needed surgery and my son who did not. Tirelessly dedicated to the best care of his patients. I am so grateful he is practicing medicine.
