I had my second hip replaced by Dr. Arntson with the anterior approach. The surgery went really well. I was up and walking the same day and was released the next day. Within a few days, I was walking well on my own but kept a cane nearby just in case I needed it. I’m one month post-op and I am walking and biking miles with minimal pain. It’s much better than my first hip replacement. I had a lot of pain while in recovery from that one.

My experience with Dr. Arntson was fantastic! The entire time they were with me couldn’t have been better. It was totally painless and everyone was extremely helpful. I have had a hip replacement and knee replacement with Dr. Owen O’Neill. Both procedures ended with excellent results. If you are considering either procedure, I would recommend Dr. O’Neill.

I have now had both hips replaced by Dr. O’Neill! My first was in March 2018 and my second was in March 2021. Because my first replacement was so successful and my recovery was so fast, of course I went back to Dr. O’Neill! I have also recommended him to my friends – he’s THAT good! Dr. Arntson replaced my left hip with the anterior procedure. I was able to walk pain free immediately with very few restrictions. There has been very little pain, especially at the incision site. Now, 6 weeks post-op, there is no pain and no restriction of movement. I am very pleased with the results. Why did I wait so long? Thank you Dr. Arntson!

I chose Dr. Mair because of the amazing work he did on my bride’s right knee replacement. When I came to him with severe left hip pain, he reassured me that he would be able to help me get back to a normal lifestyle. At 58 years young, I have a lot I want to do so full recovery is my goal. From the very start, every person I met at the TCO clinic and along the way, have just been so dang caring and have given me so much of their time.

From the day of surgery to my continued follow up appointments, the TCO staff have been with me. I have had several setbacks (from my own doing) and they have been there with advice, therapy, phone calls, urgent care on Sunday, etc. to check on me…even over the weekends. I deeply feel that they genuinely care about my success, which has been very meaningful since replacement surgery includes work and rough moments at times in the healing.

I just finished my 90 days of the program and met with Dr. Mair to review X-rays and progress. I left knowing that I am on the right track and that he is there if I need him, even though the program is completed. His personal accountability to his patients is so refreshing and, to be honest, very valuable in the healing process. I am gaining strength, flexibility, and leaving the pain behind more each day. I fully believe him when he told me I will be out pheasant hunting and chasing my granddaughters. I highly recommend Dr. Mair and TCO.

It has been 3 years already since both of my hips were replaced by Dr. Owen O’Neill. What an awesome guy and surgeon. Dr. Arntson has my respect as a doctor at the top of his profession. I saw Dr. Arntson for my hip discomfort and he earned my confidence from the first visit. I chose to have hip replacement surgery with Dr. Arnston and my expectations have been surpassed. I am over two weeks out of surgery without needing to take pain medicine, aside from Advil and Tylenol. I’ve had very little discomfort in my healing process and look forward to a full recovery. I am walking much better than I was before the surgery, thanks to Dr. Arntson. I truly recommend him for anyone in hip trouble. He is a top tier, skilled professional from start to finish.

For 5 years, I have known I needed both of my hips replaced. I put off the surgery and dealt with the pain until it started to affect my back. I knew I had to do something and finally, I had an in-depth conversation about the surgery with Dr. Lewis. I had high anxiety, not about the surgery or recovery, but due to waiting and thinking about the process. Dr. Lewis reassured me about the process. I finally agreed to have my right hip surgery done at the Minnesota Valley Surgery Center. As soon as I checked in, I was put at ease. The first nurse I talked to (without being prompted) acknowledged my anxiety and said it would be addressed. A short time later, I met with the Anesthesiologist. He too, without being prompted, said he knew of my anxiety and would take care of me. I was given some pills and was very comfortable leading up to my arrival at the operating room. I don’t remember a lot about the surgery itself but the rest of my stay at the Surgery Center was very comfortable.

They were a great and caring nursing staff. The entire visit, from the home nurse to the physical therapist, went smoothly. My follow up visit with Libby Witchger and Dr. Lewis went well and truly, the entire process went so well. I am considering have my other hip done as soon as I can. My biggest concern was the pre-surgery anxiety but because of the caring and concerned staff, it was barely noticeable.
