I just had my second hip replacement surgery with Dr. O’Neill. I am 9 weeks out from the date of surgery and could not be happier with the results. My favorite pass time is golf. I just walked 18 holes and feel great. The big difference from my first replacement was the timing of the procedure. I was more proactive with the second surgery. I didn’t wait for the pain to become as bad as it was with my first hip replacement. Once again, consulting with Dr. O’Neill we decided to go ahead and correct my hip issue. Just like last time, the whole team experience at TCO was absolutely awesome. I would totally recommend this procedure for anyone experiencing hip issues. I highly recommend Dr. Christopher Meyer and his team at Twin Cities Orthopedics. I had been dealing with severe hip pain on my right side for the last few years. I had was thrilled that my anterior hip replacement went so well! I had a posterior hip replacement in 2020 and needed to have the other hip done in 2023. I opted to have an anterior procedure this time and was extremely happy with the results. I had very little pain, which Tylenol handled well. Everyone was surprised how well I was moving around shortly after the surgery. Recovery has been much easier than with the posterior approach. Dr. Owen O’Neill is amazing. He explains everything ahead of time and what to expect. His team of nurses and staff are the very best and the EXCEL Program was definitely the way to go!

When I came to TCO Maple Grove with a painful hip condition, I had “muddled through” years of pain. I couldn’t walk normal distances or stairs without holding on to someone or something to steady myself. Activities like dressing, driving, getting in and out of a seat were challenging. I passed on social gatherings that involved walking. When I saw Dr. Bircher and his staff, he asked me specific questions about my symptoms, my lifestyle, and my goals for an improved lifestyle. Then he and his staff gave me their diagnosis and goals to aim for. I also had other health issues related to exercise, blood pressure, and breathing. He worked with my other doctors to coordinate the timing, treatments, and specific surgical requirements to assure my safety and a positive outcome. It worked! I am enjoying activities again and I am improving at a pace that’s comfortable for me, based on my goals and abilities. Don’t wait. See Dr. Bircher ASAP if you are in pain. Life can be fun!

I’m 48 years and had hip replacement surgery. I choose Dr. O’Neill since he does the anterior approach. It’s been 10 weeks since my surgery and I am pain free.
