When living in Florida, I play tennis daily. I was “diving” for a drop shot from the base line and went down HARD on my left knee. Of course, I kept playing and didn’t realize I had hurt it so badly until I tried to hit a backhand, and the next morning, falling into the wall. I was DEVASTATED. As a retired lady, tennis is my life. It may sound ridiculous, but it is! I play here in MN and in Florida on “green clay” har-tru courts, and I like to play every day. I went to an emergency ortho in Florida and the MRI showed a full PCL tear. I started researching and found ONE surgeon in the country with expertise in PCL tears. After reading several of his published articles I saw a little note indicating he was moving to TCO a month after my injury! I was thrilled. I have been following Dr. LaPrade since then. Because he knew my only goal was to get back on the tennis court, after some meniscus repair, I was put into a brace that HE INVENTED specifically for the PCL tear. Four months later I was playing daily WITH the brace. Thank you Dr. LaPrade!

During the fall of 2021, I tore my ACL and meniscus playing football. I was worried about the process ahead of me. Luckily TCO was partnered with my school to take care of situations like mine. My surgeon, Dr. Ryan Hess, was astronomical when it came to taking the steps needed to have a healthy recovery. He made me feel at home with all the staff and physical therapy that went along with the process. He made it clear that it was going to be tough but gave me confidence during the whole process. As a three-sport athlete of hockey, baseball and football, I was concerned that I would struggle to get back to the same level I left off at. Dr. Hess and the TCO family instilled that if I did what they said, that I would be even better than before. This became more than true for me. After 9 months of therapy and recovery, I got go to play baseball again. I learned that trusting the doctors at TCO would make me even better as I went on to make All-Section and the All-State tournament team. For this, I cannot thank Dr. Hess and Twin Cities Orthopedics enough!

Thank you to Dr. Barry for using your gifts to allow my son Isaiah to complete again and re-claim his identity as an athlete. You reconstructed his ACL in February 2021 and he went on to captain his football and wrestling team. He was able to play in 3 football games, going to state as a football team and individually for wrestling. The wins were wonderful but what was incredible was the joy he experienced by being able to compete again.

In June, Isaiah will join the United States Air Force Academy Class of 2021 to serve our country. Thank you again for making this possible.

TCO and Training HAUS has allowed me to return to a sport I thought I would never be able to play again, at a level I had never played at before. I am a forward on the University of Tulsa soccer team and recently got back to training with my team after two revision surgeries with Dr. LaPrade at TCO. The original injury occurred in 2019 when I collided with a goalie. I had three surgeries in Tulsa but none ended up being successful. Therefore, I traveled to Minnesota to work with TCO to attempt to get back on the field. The Training HAUS staff quickly became a second family for me and allowed me to push myself to a place I didn’t know was possible. The protocols and recovery process have been extremely smooth and I’ve returned to an elite level of health in a very short period of time for my injury. I have complete confidence in my knee and cannot wait to be back in a Tulsa jersey in the fall.

After an accident falling on my knee, Dr. Hunt knew almost immediately what the subsequent MRI was going to reveal, simply from physical examination and discussion of my symptoms. The MRI confirmed EXACTLY what he predicted, and what the meniscus repair surgery would entail. His explanations and recommendations were so clear and concise that my confidence in the procedure was total. After the surgery, by following the recommended rest/ice/elevate therapy for 2 days, my knee was totally pain-free and ready for gradual return to normal. I can’t imagine a better scenario and outcome than this one. Thank you Dr. Hunt!

On December 10, 2021, I fell off my work truck and severed my quad tendons in my right leg. I went to TCO Urgent Care in Blaine, where they told me more about my injury. I really just thought that I bruised my leg, but didn’t think it would be anything worse than that. I met with Dr. Ridley and planned out my surgery and recovery. My surgery was on December 20th. Two weeks later, I started therapy at the TCO Blaine clinic. I primarily saw Abby and Tina. They are both so great to work with. I was having trouble with my range of motion and they came up with a great plan to get my leg moving, and worked with me to get the results I needed. They were both so professional and so friendly.

This has been a heck of a long trip. I never had surgery before and this was a hard for me to accept. I drive for a living, and to be told I would be out of work for 5 months and couldn’t drive for 3 months, was not something I wanted to hear. Dr. Ridley was so fantastic to work with and very encouraging. I got my release to work after 4 months. I still have a lot of strengthening to do, but I am now back at work and feeling good about that. I can’t say enough about how TCO helped me out from beginning to end. I would highly recommend them to anyone who would need their services.

I had been having knee issues for years, starting with a meniscal tear and resulting in arthroscopic surgery twice. I was told that I would eventually need a knee replacement and when that time came Dr. Lewis came highly recommended. What a beautiful job he did with my knee. I can’t recommend Dr. Hunt enough. He’s a doctor that will not only listen to you, but will work WITH you to come up with the best treatment plan. Dr. Hunt has worked on both of my knee replacements and one of my shoulders. The range of motion that I got back exceeded what I thought! Dr. Hunt and his entire team are great. They’re dedicated to ensuring that your treatment and recovery go well. In fact, I recently moved out of state and discovered I needed to have a patella ligament reconstruction done to my knee and there was only one person I wanted to do it! Dr. Hunt and his team worked with me remotely to diagnose and get the surgery set up. I returned to Minnesota for the surgery and am now well on my way to recovery. In a worker’s compenstation (WC) injury, I tore my ACL and had a meniscus tear in my left knee. I was referred to Dr. Jeff Mair and TCO. I could not be happier with the experience and care that I received from him and the TCO staff. All my pre and post-surgery appointments have been very well conducted. Dr. Mair and the staff were always very friendly and had a wonderful bedside manner. They also worked very efficiently with my WC provider for my appointments and surgery. When it was time for surgery, they were very organized and I was able to get in very quickly for surgery once it was approved by WC. The day of surgery went very smoothly for me, as the patient, and for my husband as my caregiver.

I had a great team of nurses before, during, and after surgery. They were very informative and had great bedside manner as well. Recovery has been great too. I had an ACL repair surgery about 20 years prior on my right knee (not at TCO), due to a high school sports injury. The current recovery on my left knee has been wonderful and easier than the last, all due to Dr. Mair and the TCO staff! I have had a wonderful experience with TCO staff and Dr. Mair. I hope that I would not need another orthopedic surgery in the future, but if I do I will surely be coming back to Dr. Mair and TCO.
