Dr. Bircher performed my knee replacement surgery. Once it was determined that I needed to have my knee replaced, Dr. Bircher and his team explained the entire procedure to me and what I could expect after surgery. I was very well pleased with the entire process and would recommend Twin Cities Orthopedics to anyone.

Dr. O’Neill handled both my total knee replacements this past year and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. From the initial assessment with Dr. O’Neill, I could tell this was a highly experienced surgeon with a very warm and reassuring personality. I could feel he genuinely cared about my well-being. Every interaction since that initial assessment was very positive. The recovery process has been steady and relatively swift. Now that my second knee replacement was 3 months ago, I am beginning to again resume a more active lifestyle which I had put aside years ago, like enjoying playing golf pain-free or taking long walks with my wife. I highly recommend Dr. O’Neill to anyone thinking about total knee replacement surgery. My only regret is that I didn’t see Dr. O’Neill years ago!

I injured my left knee many years ago and then continued to punish it further through a 28-year military career, as well as training for marathons. Dr. James Bircher performed knee replacement surgery in March, and I was able to walk my daughter down the aisle at her wedding in June. Dr. Bircher did a great job, and I highly recommend him. I am an 85-year-old woman who had arthritis pain in my knees. I saw Dr. O’Neill a couple of years ago and learned that I was not at the point of needing surgery. Therefore, I had to get injections until they no longer helped. Upon visiting Dr. O’Neill again last year, I learned that it was time. I had knee replacement surgery on both knees two months apart, doing the suggested exercises ahead of time. I am thankful to report that three months after my second surgery, I can walk two miles a day and have virtually no pain! Dr. O’Neill and his team are outstanding and ready to help in any way. I highly recommend them.

I have been a patient of Dr. Owen O’Neill’s since October 18, 2013. As a patient, I was very bow legged as a result of family hereditary and genetics. Additionally, I incurred a meniscus injury from high school football and the entire interior cartilage of the right leg was removed in the about 1960. After playing highly competitive tournament tennis for sixty years as well as other sports, I developed a very serious displacement of the femur from the tibia.

In December 2013, Dr. O’Neill expertly and surgically replaced the damaged right knee with a lot of additional metal rods drilled into the femur and tibia during the total knee replacement. I am so thankful to Dr. O’Neill and TCO as I have had a perfectly functioning usable right leg for the past thirteen years.

Now my left knee had developed bone on bone along with arthritis and pain when walking, so of course I would choose no other surgeon than Dr. O’Neill. About two months ago Dr. O’Neill surgically repaired my painful left knee and with the help of the staff at TCO physical therapy I am recovering and pain free at this time. The follow up appointments with Dr. O’Neill and Isabelle have been very meaningful. As an engineer I was very inquisitive about the knee replacement procedure and they both took time to show me the procedure on plastic models. I have recommended Dr. O’Neill to many friends and relatives and every one of those friends have been very pleased with their results.

I’m 44 years old and recently had my knee replaced. I’m 6 weeks post-operation and it hasn’t felt this good since my 20’s. I met my range of motion goals at 3 weeks and no longer required physical therapy after 4 weeks. I’m back to lifting weights and cardio exercise and it feels great! I’m looking forward to back country hiking again. My only regret is waiting to have it done. Thanks to Dr. Saterbak and her team I’m back to enjoying the outdoors and am pain free.

This past March I won the High School Olympic Weightlifting State Championship for the 67kg weight class. I had a final snatch of 68 kg and clean jerk of 91kg. I was able to come out on top with all of my hard work. I had only been cleared for sports four months prior, so this is a real testament to what you can do when you put your mind to it. I also dove back into ultimate frisbee and have easily become a vital player on the field with my speed and agility. I’d like to thank Dr. Johnson for giving me the opportunity to make these great things happen after my knee surgeries.

I am so pleased with the outcome of both of my total knee replacement surgeries (December of 2023, and February of 2024). Dr. O’Neill is a knee replacement genius. My first knee was in his top 10 worst of his career (I blew it out skiing in 1988 so I had LOTS of long arthritic bone spurs). My other knee just wore out (probably from carrying most of the load for 35 years!). It is so nice not to have pain and aches deep inside my knees anymore, and my scars are hardly noticeable. His team is fabulous! They took very good care of me during the entire process. I am getting lots of compliments on how well I am walking now from friends and family. This surgery and the healing process is not easy, but it is well worth it. I am really feeling that now that I walk with ease and no pain. Dr. O’Neill is very caring, and his confidence was very reassuring. You could not pick a better surgeon than Dr. O’Neill!
