Dr. Bircher recently performed my left knee replacement surgery. Last January, he performed my right knee replacement. Both surgeries went very well. Dr. Bircher is an excellent and caring surgeon. My recovery went without any issues, and I was back to normal in about eight weeks. I followed all the directions regarding medications and physical therapy. I am 100% pleased with the outcomes of both surgeries.

Dr. Bircher and Twin Cities Orthopedics are best in class. The supporting staff including the surgical team, nurses, physical therapists are confident, efficient, caring, and friendly. I stayed overnight at the EXCEL care facility and that team is so good at what they do. They are such happy people. A stationary bike in home was offered, and I decided to try it. I was advised that using the bike as prescribed can cut recovery time in half. Dr. Bircher could monitor my progress and determine when I could transfer to each level. I can already tell it makes a difference. I used the “Nice” machine for both surgeries and I maked it so easy to do icing as prescribed.

I just had a knee replacement on July 10th, 2026, with Dr. Carlson at TCO Eagan. I am so glad I did it! I am almost three weeks post-op and I feel great. My knee has no more joint pain outside of typical surgical recovery. I am so thankful for the referral from Dr. LaPrade. Thank you to Dr. Carlson, TCO and their amazing staff.

I recently had knee replacement surgery through Twin Cities Orthopedics. I was referred by TCO Eden Prairie – Therapy for massage services with Brook Gahm. I have had a great experience and Brook is an exceptional massage therapist! She is knowledgeable and demonstrates her skill by working with a variety of injuries. She has helped me not only with my recovery from surgery but with other issues such as stress and back pain. Brook takes the time to listen to your individual needs. She is very relationship-oriented and has a calming presence. I am so grateful to find such a wonderful massage therapist. She is the best, and I will keep going back for more massages with her!

I took a fall and landed hard on a concrete floor with my right knee. After two weeks of pain and stubbornly hoping it would go away on its own, I made an appointment with Dr. Jeremiah Johnson at TCO Burnsville. They were great about getting me in very quickly. Making an appointment as a new patient was easy! The ladies at my salon spoke very highly of TCO. I was very impressed with Dr. Johnson and his staff. He asked several questions to understand my pain level and he patiently waited for my answers! It’s refreshing to have a doctor who communicates at a level understandable by a non-medical person like me. He took his time explaining my injury and what it would take to heal. It’s been a while since I have felt this confident with a doctor. I’ve recommended Dr. Johnson to my husband after he experienced a shoulder injury. My daughter broke her fibula during basketball practice. I loved the fact that we could get her in to TCO Urgent Care and had X-rays taken immediately after it happened. We got there at 7:45pm and they closed at 8pm. The next morning, we received a phone call from Dr. Chen that we need to come in and see her right away to evaluate if my daughter needed surgery, which she did.

Dr. Chen was amazing to work with! She was super helpful and explained everything with the level of detail we needed. My daughter was a high school senior when it happened and committed to play college basketball this upcoming season. Dr. Chen performed the surgery, and we’ve met with her multiple times since. We would 100% recommend her to anyone that needed her specialty service.

After tearing my ACL during my section alpine skiing race in February, I didn’t expect to make it back for my spring golf season. But thanks to the help I received from physical therapist, Gina Gjersvik, I was not only able to come back to compete, but also shoot a counting score to lead Blake to a AA State Championship in golf. Gina always encouraged me, joked with me, and helped me stay hopeful and motivated with my recovery. The title would not have been possible without her, and I’m grateful I got to work with her.

I had my right knee replaced two years ago at another medical facility which was my mistake. For my left knee, I changed my insurance, so I was able could go to Twin Cities Orthopedics. I had my surgery on June 9, 2026 with Dr. Bircher. By the end of the first week, I didn’t need a walker or cane. My surgery was such a huge success! The EXCEL team was amazing! The moment I walked into the Plymouth Orthopedic Surgery Center, I felt I was in good hands. My Physical therapy was great and I finished it in only six weeks! I will be heading back next summer to see Dr. Bircher and fix my other knee. I would highly recommend TCO to everyone!

While training for the Special Olympics, Elizabeth was experiencing pain in her left leg, knee and hip. Her pain increased until one day she told her mom she “just could not run anymore.” It hurt too much. As an athlete with Down Syndrome, her tolerance to pain is high, so she went straight to TCO to be evaluated. After a diagnosis of shin splints and IT band syndrome, Elizabeth’s now friend and physical therapist, Leah Hammer, put together a plan. She listened intently and provided individualized care to quickly prepare Elizabeth for the games. The at-home exercises and weekly therapy appointments have greatly paid off. Elizabeth has gained leg strength that has significantly reduced her pain. She’s so excited to compete on a national stage and meet athletes from all over the country. Thank you TCO. For almost 10 years, I had right knee pain. Various doctors mentioned the solution was another cortisone shot. My ongoing agonizing pain resulted in someone recommending me to go see Dr. Bircher to have my knee looked at. His examination made it clear that the solution was a total knee replacement. I was ready for relief, so I decided to move forward. Now, I am six months post-surgery, and I am getting through the mild healing pains. Everything has been good and the relief is life changing. Now that I am without the constant knee pain limitations, my quality of life has notably improved.
