Brooke Leone was my physical therapist. Looking back at my sessions with Brooke, I see her as a Godsend. The issue with my knee started on April 6, 2025, when I had an infection which required two surgeries, which I received outside of Twin Cities Orthopedics. This required multiple hospital stays, and a five?month wait before I could finally get my total knee replacement. By the time I met Brooke, I already had a long and painful road behind me. I now had a new knee, along with profuse swelling from scar tissue. From my understanding, this wasn’t typical, and I ended up being forced to retire and go on disability.

Brooke not only helped me become the best I could be physically, but what made my sessions with her truly special was her ability to read me. By the time I received my knee replacement, I was physically exhausted and emotionally struggling with my disability. My early sessions with Brooke were tough and exhausting. However, what made my recovery exceptional and successful was how she encouraged me and lifted my spirits. Her support felt sincere and was exactly what I needed to keep pushing forward. I honestly believe God put Brooke in my life. She is the one who made me want to achieve the best mobility possible with my leg recovery.

Before my knee replacement surgery and meeting Brooke, I had physical therapy sessions as part of my recovery from a septic infection. I often left those appointments feeling defeated and frustrated by the lack of interest and care I received from those providers outside of TCO. I was amazed when I met Brooke and she lifted my mood, motivated me, and helped me push through the pain. I became emotional and thanked God for putting her in my life when I was at such a low point. I am extremely grateful for her and her skills.

I wanted to thank Dr. Anseth and his remarkable team for restoring my life. I have just returned from Utah and a skiing trip at Deer Valley and Alta. Although snow in Utah could be better, my right knee has not felt this good since my twenties. I have come a long way from two years ago when I decided to have surgery after taking the gondola down at Snowbird. It was a long road of recovery, but my range of motion and overall knee function has completely exceeded my expectations. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Dr. Bircher was my surgeon for both my knee replacement and my hip revision. In both cases, he was a remarkable doctor, and I was lucky to have had him as my surgeon. He very patient and kind. He truly listens and helps you to make the best decision that will get you to a successful recovery.

I had robotic-assisted total knee replacement surgery in January of 2026 with Dr. Bircher. He is an awesome doctor and very easy to talk to. He truly puts you at ease when discussing surgery. My surgery went well with little pain, and my physical therapy sessions were easier because of it. My quality of life has improved so much, and I no longer need to use my cane, which is a major benefit for me. I highly recommend Dr. Bircher and his team. They are the best!

I had a total knee replacement by Dr. Saterbak and her team one year ago. I would prefer to not need to do this again, but if I do need my other knee replaced, I will go straight back to Dr. Saterbak. She and her team clearly and carefully answered all my questions about the procedure. They were there to guide me through every step of the process. As a result of such excellent care, I recovered within a few months and was able to resume my active life. Six months after the surgery, I completed a ten-mile hike through hills on narrow forest paths. I owe a lot of this success to their superb skill and experience, especially Dr. Saterbak. I am grateful to her, Maren, Nick, and the EXCEL care team for such magnificent care.

I knew I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life with a leg I couldn’t rely on. The Orthopedic Institute felt different from a traditional hospital because the environment felt calm and focused. Dr. Peter Sanders made a strong impression from the start. He was straightforward and reassuring, and he explained things in a way the made sense even when I was nervous. After surgery, he and his team came to talk to me right away. Recovery was challenging. The exercises were painful, but I was determined to follow every instruction. I knew if I wanted my life back, I had to commit to the work. My biggest motivation was my dog and being able to walk him again. Physical therapy pushed me, but it also gave me strength. Now I am walking better than I have in years. I feel stable and confident, and I’m grateful for the care that helped me get here.

Dr. Arntson performed total knee replacement surgery on both my knees. I couldn’t be more impressed with his kindness. He truly showed interest in making sure I was comfortable with every aspect of my care. If I ever need any orthopedic care again, I hope I can have Dr. Arntson as my physician.

I went to Dr. Bircher and he was very thorough during the care process for my meniscal tear. I completed physical therapy, received injections, and then had surgery. I appreciated how careful Dr. Bircher was with my care instead of just scheduling me for surgery right away. Afterwards, I completed more therapy. Now I am back to full mobility and movement in my knee. Thank you to Dr. Bircher and his team! I have already recommended them to two friends, who were highly satisfied as well.

I recently visited the TCO Burnsville due to severe pain in my right leg caused by a significant hamstring injury (biceps femoris tear). From my very first interaction with the team, I was met with kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. The entire staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and responsive to my specific needs, which made a difficult situation much easier to navigate.

My physical therapy was provided by Sally Hutson (PT, DPT) and Michelle DeGross (PTA). I was completely satisfied with the exceptional care they delivered. Their professionalism, encouragement, and patient?centered approach made a tremendous difference in my recovery. Thanks to their guidance and the treatment plan they designed, I was able to complete my therapy within three months of the injury and return to many of the physical activities I enjoyed before. I still have more healing ahead, and full recovery will take time, but I am confidently on the right path.
