Ever since I was young, my passions have been playing basketball and volleyball. During my eighth grade season of basketball, I tore my ACL and meniscus in my right knee. I’ve never had a serious injury before so the orthopedic field was new to me.

My mom took me directly to TCO to get specialized care. This is where I met with Dr. Jason Dieterle. It was an amazing first experience. Dr. Dieterle gave me valuable input and made me feel cared for as a young, injured athlete. At the time, I was extremely scared and nervous about the road ahead, but I knew I had a great team to support me.

After spending months recovering, I was blessed with a healthy nine months of playing sports. During my sophomore volleyball season, I tore the ACL in my opposite knee. I immediately made an appointment with my favorite person at TCO, Dr. Dieterle. He performed my ACL reconstruction surgery and did amazing work!

Although I am not sure about y future sports career, I know that whenever I choose to play I will be extremely strong! Both surgeries and recoveries made me who I am today. The group of physicians and staff at TCO will make sure you get back to doing what you love in no time!

This is the most wonderful doctor and nurses I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Dr. Arntson did my surgery and within five weeks I felt like I had a new lease on life. I’m more active now than I have been in years. Dr. Arntson gave me my life back, as did the wonderful staff and the hospital, my physical therapist, Kristina, and the staff at the clinic. Thank you to everyone. It was an incredibly great experience.

I finished therapy in April 2023 and want to say thanks to the whole team at TCO. Kristina and Beth did an awesome job in their expertise with me. I had troubles with bone-on-bone knee pain. I went through an exam to determine the requirements for a knee replacement. I met with Dr. Bircher and he explained the whole process and procedure. He successfully repaired my right knee and I am completely satisfied with the great care and post-op therapy. Dr. Bircher’s friendly attitude, positivity, and confidence helped with the process. I am now considering when to have my left knee replacement done too. Thank you, Dr. Bircher!

I had been having pain and discomfort in my right knee since high school. At one point, I literally had to hike backwards on the Superior Hiking Trail! After that, my general physician referred me to Dr. Owen O’Neill. I began receiving cortisone injections periodically, eventually having arthroscopic surgery on my right knee in 2009. Now at the age of 70, it was time for a knee replacement. Dr. O’Neill and his team provided a comprehensive Knee Replacement Protocol that I followed to be ready for surgery and recovery post-surgery.

Following surgery, I began physical therapy at TCO’s Edina Minnesota Drive location with Josh Rolfes. I looked forward to my time with Josh. He made our time together fun and helped me understand that, while some of the exercises would hurt, I would not hurt my knee. That helped me! Josh was always prepared. He had something new for me each session and was very encouraging. Now 9 weeks after surgery, you wouldn’t guess I had a knee replacement. The surgery team is top notch. And just as important, the physical therapy post-surgery is vital to a complete recovery! Thank you all! I can’t say enough good things about TCO, and particularly Dr. O’Neill, Isabel, Ann, Casey and Josh.

I went to see Dr. Ridley for pain in my knee. He had an MRI done to see what else may be going on and discovered 2 blood clots that were not related to my knee pain. He called me when he found them and had me go to the ER immediately for an ultrasound. I was put on blood thinners to treat them. The discovery was incredible, and I am very thankful to Dr. Ridley for going the extra mile to ensure there was nothing else going on that he couldn’t see through an x-ray.

It was a great experience from the first visit until the last. It’s been six weeks since surgery and I’m walking an average of six miles per day. Dr. Schmiesing did a great job with the surgery and the follow up care. The EXCEL Program was a lot of help too, along with my physical therapist, Jacob. I would have this surgery all over again, if needed!

From day one, Dr. Lewis and his team of assistants and physical therapists have been “spot on” and I thank them all. You must not forget your responsibility as a patient, to take guidance from the team and exercise. I was walking with assistance early on. At day 40 I was walking without assistance. It’s truly a miracle. I have a little more work to do on my part, like exercising, but I expect that I will continue my travels as planned. Thanks to all at TCO.

I was referred to TCO by my primary care doctor and chiropractor. My leg and knee hurt so much, I could hardly walk. I saw Dr. Bircher at TCO and what a great surgeon he is. From my first visit to after surgery, he always explained what to expect with my total knee replacement. I am now three months after surgery and my knee is doing great. Dr. Bircher said there would be pain and there was! But now it is so much better. That is all in the past. Thank you, Dr. Bircher.

I had my surgery with Dr. O’Neill and couldn’t be happier with the outcome. I was somewhat apprehensive because the replacement of my right knee with another surgeon did not go well. Knowing this, he answered all of my questions and calmed my fears. He was 100% right with everything he told me. Surgery went great and he came up to my room that evening to check on me, even though he was unsure if he would have time to stop by. His whole team was great. They were very thorough and caring. It’s been years since running without pain. This golf season I plan on walking the courses again! Thank you so much.
