Over the last 10-15 years I’ve accumulated multiple, minor knee injuries. Recently, I had another injury but this one felt a little different. It was more scary and more painful than ones I experienced in the past. I sought out Dr. Ridley at TCO for his insight. After a very thorough exam and x-ray series, we decided to manage the issue conservatively. Dr. Ridley recommended continuing with physical therapy; consisting of weight-bearing exercises, as well as range of motion mobility. My knee is now about 99% back to pre-injury status and Dr. Ridley has checked in multiple times to see how the progress has been going. I couldn’t be happier to have his insight and professionalism as a guiding aid!

First of all, I would like to thank everyone at TCO and the EXCEL program. I made a good choice to go with them. They are very nice and professional. With two knees, bone on bone, I could not move very well at all. I met with Dr. Owen O’Neill and needed surgery to replace my knees. Dr. O’Neill answered all of the questions that my wife and I had. He made us feel very comfortable, as did his TCO team. I would recommend Dr. O’Neill to everyone I talk to and I would recommend the surgery and therapy, if you want to get back on your feet and moving again. Now, after two knee replacements, I am feeling great and am moving around very well for the first time in years. I put it off so long and should have acted quicker. The surgery Dr. Meyer performed on me has greatly reduced my pain. I still have some pain and swelling but I’m not fully recovered yet. I anticipate that this surgery will be a complete success. I would recommend anyone having knee pain and getting the diagnosis for a partial or full replacement to go for it! I’m very happy I did!!

My knee surgery with Dr. Kelly corrected a very serious quad tenon injury which allows me to continue with my activities somewhat similarly to before. I do have some restrictions but I feel fortunate to be able to function as I am.

Following surgery with Dr. Kelly, I am now back at work unloading and loading grocery carts. I’m still strengthening my knees but I’m able to do stairs slowly and I can ride a bike as part of my exercise. I do get stiff but if I sit for a bit, but both knees are ready to go again. I’m getting back to moving to my faster pace walk and style of life every day.

I have had knee pain and significant swelling for well over a decade. I finally decided to take action and find a solution. Fortunately, I was referred to Twin Cities Orthopedics, specifically Dr. Ryan Hess. I recall Dr. Hess calling me with my MRI results one Friday evening and spent about 30 minutes with me on the phone explaining his thoughts and what the next steps could be. I remember thinking it was pretty impressive that a doctor would spend time after hours on a Friday explaining to me his advice and what all the possible options and outcomes would be. Ultimately we agreed to move forward with the knee surgery and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I was up and walking around the day after surgery and within a couple of weeks, my knee feels better than it has for over 10 years. I would highly recommend Dr. Hess with TCO. Prior to the surgery with Dr. Kelly, my ability to walk comfortably was hit or miss. And even on the best days, the first several steps after sitting were slow, stiff & difficult. Following a bi-lateral total knee replacement, I’m back to fitness walking with no distance limits or pain. I don’t have to worry about a knee giving out while descending stairs, and I’m able to do essentially all the things I’ve enjoyed throughout my life.

I had refused to seriously consider taking any action for my knee. Dr. Kruse was the first doctor that I felt cared about my care and my future. He gave me hope for the first time in years that I can have my life back!

The EXCEL program at TCO took a tough knee procedure and made it easier. From Dr. Meyer to every nurse and staff member, they exceeded my expectations. The physical therapy team of Mike and Nikki were amazing! Keep up the great work you do!
